Southport Winterfest

This year's Southport Winterfest will run from Saturday, December 1st through Saturday, December 9th. Centered in historic downtown Southport, Winterfest includes a full week of holiday festivities that are fun for all ages. The full event schedule is listed below. Be sure to visit the Winterfest website for additional details about each event.

Friday, December 1st | 6 p.m. – Mayor's Downtown Tree Lighting Ceremony at Whittler's Bench.

Third Annual Storefront Showcase decorating contest – from Saturday, December 2nd to Saturday, December 9th, visitors can visit and vote for local business storefronts decorated for the holidays.

Saturday, December 2nd | 1 p.m. – Southport Winterfest Tea at the Southport Community Building.

Sunday, December 3rd | 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. – Pet Pictures with Santa at the Indian Trail Meeting Hall/Keziah Park.

Monday, December 4th | 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. – Shop-with-a-Cop Concert in Franklin Square Park.

Tuesday, December 5th | 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. – Candy Cane Garden Party at Keziah Park.

Wednesday, December 6th

3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. – The State Pilot Annual Cookie Contest at the Southport Community Building.

5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. – Supper with Santa's Elves at 209 Atlantic Ave., beside Southport Gym.

Thursday, December 7th | Christmas Movie "Polar Express" on the Fort Johnston Garrison Lawn at dusk.

Friday, December 8th

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. – Holiday Open House at the One More Bookstore.

12 p.m. - 4 p.m. – Historic Holidays at the NC Maritime Museum.

6:30 p.m. – Light Up the Night Christmas Parade. Parade route: Waterfront Park, down Howe St., back to the Southport Fire Station.

Saturday, December 9th

9 a.m. - 4 p.m. – Winter Craft Festival at Franklin Square Park.

10 a.m. - 11 a.m. – Santa's Workshop at 209 Atlantic Ave., beside the Southport Gym.

11 a.m. - 3 p.m. – Winterfest Performing Arts on the Franklin Square Park stage.

12 p.m. - 5 p.m. – Old Brunswick County Jail Museum Tours at the Old Jail.

12 p.m. - 5 p.m. – Annual Holiday Tour of Homes – tickets required. Purchase tickets through the Southport Historical Society's website or in person at Ft. Johnston Vistors Center and Museum.

12 p.m. - 5 p.m. – Southport Train and Toy Show at the Indian Trail Meeting Hall.

3 p.m. - 5 p.m. – Charlie Brown Christmas Concert & Party at the Southport Community Building.

6 p.m. – Southport Winterfest Flotilla at the Southport Waterfront.
